Full Speaking
I was invited to speak at the UMatter One Thing I Wish You Knew event as a Motivational Speaker. Hundreds gathered for this annual event that saw 5 different speakers. My allotted time was 10 minutes to share what I've learned since losing my leg, while still looking to be a positive voice for all ages in a crowd of 300-plus!

Stories I've Shared
I met a car accident victim while working as a reporter in South Bend, IN. Matt Reum needed his left leg amputated. He survived on rainwater after he was trapped in his wrecked truck for 6 days. After messages back and forth, we did an exclusive first sit-down interview. Matt now has a book written and is also a motivational speaker!

George Blaha Award
This is a throwback! I was awarded the George Blaha Leadership and Courage Award at the Detroit Athletic Club Athlete of the Year ceremony in 2018. George is the longtime voice of the Detroit Pistons and is beloved by the Detroit Community. Count that baby and the foul!
